College Roomies Turned Writing Icons

Okay, well maybe writing icons is a stretch, but their friendship did start in college when Karissa Harlow found herself saddled with a particularly chaotic roommate in the form of Ash O’Rourke.

Their combined lack of desire for social contact was unprecedented…

The pair quickly figured out that among the many things they had in common, the most prominent similarity was their love for storytelling - particularly in the form of writing. Many long nights were spent filled with the sound of lighting fast typing from the two, only punctuated by the sound of Friends or How I Met Your Mother playing in the shared living space. Inspired by The Inklings, this is where the nicknames Lewis and Tolkien were born.

No longer college roomies, they continue to pursue their dreams.

Based out of Arizona and Texas respectively, the pair felt it was only right to share their love for writing with the world - seeing as their discussions about the art of writing often lasted for hours anyways and only lacked an audience.

This is how The Scripturient Society was born, a podcast all about what makes writing great and how to become increasingly more adept at telling the stories that luxuriate inside our minds.

From discussions ranging from what makes a compelling love interest or magical world to the best healthy habits for writers, this is the podcast for anyone who is addicted to storytelling.
