This November 12-15, step into a city made for storytelling. In a place where flickering lanterns, jazz drifting through the streets, and centuries of layered history create the perfect atmosphere for creative discovery. New Orleans invites you into a world where every corner holds a story, and every moment sparks inspiration.
What to Expect
At this luxury Fall 2026 retreat, you’ll stay in a decadent, thoughtfully curated house in the heart of the city—complete with private solo bedrooms, giving you space to rest, reflect, and write in comfort. This is a retreat designed for both indulgence and immersion: quiet mornings with beignets, coffee, and your notebook, balanced by curated outings that bring the spirit of New Orleans directly into your work.
You will have the option to join us and explore the soul of the city—wandering historic streets, savoring its vibrant culture, and stepping into its mysteries through guided ghost tours that reveal the haunting, fascinating past beneath the surface. These experiences aren’t just excursions—they’re invitations to deepen your writing, to capture the voice, rhythm, and energy of New Orleans on the page.
Activities include:
A nighttime ghost tour around the city
A visit to Cafe du Monde for fresh, authentic beignets
Exploring the French Quarter
Guided writing exercises & creativity workshops
Peer feedback
Optional yoga & mindfulness sessions
Communal meals
Independent writing time
A cozy pajama party to unwind
A Day in the Life of a Story Sirens Retreater
Begin your morning with optional yoga before enjoying a nourishing, homemade breakfast. Spend your days in productive solo writing time, creativity workshops, and participating in unique, location-based excursions for an extra burst of adventure to inspire your soul and your stories for years to come.
Evenings bring everyone together for delicious meals, meaningful conversations, and the kind of laughter that lasts long after the retreat ends.
Snacks, coffee, tea, and soda are available around the clock, and all freshly-prepared meals are included in your retreat fee.
All writing activities are optional — we want you to follow the rhythm your creativity needs to thrive.
Whether you’re writing beneath a wrought-iron balcony, gathering with fellow writers in conversation, or finding inspiration in the echoes of the past, you’ll discover a rare kind of creative flow—one rooted in place, connection, and story.
This is more than a retreat. It’s an experience of New Orleans that will stay with you long after you leave—and live on in everything you write.
Who It’s For
Writers of all genres and experience levels are encouraged to join us. While the retreat leans fiction-forward, we’ve welcomed memoirists, poets, essayists, bloggers, nonfiction writers, and more. If you’re seeking a supportive, judgment-free environment to create, explore, and grow, you’ll feel right at home.
