Join us February 4–7, 2027, in snowy Madison, Ohio, for an all-women writing retreat designed for slowing down, getting cozy, and letting your creativity wander.
Winter has a special kind of magic for writers. ❄️✨ The world grows quiet, the landscape transforms, and there’s something wonderfully indulgent about retreating indoors with a warm drink, a crackling fire, and nowhere you need to be except wherever your story takes you.
This winter, we’re escaping to a cozy lakeside home right on Lake Erie, where snowy scenery, icy lake views, a beautiful fireplace, and a hot tub create the perfect backdrop for four days of writing, rest, connection, and inspiration.
Imagine journaling beside the fire, sipping wine from a local vineyard, watching snow fall outside the windows, soaking in the hot tub beneath the winter sky, or bundling up for a peaceful walk along the lake. This is a retreat for embracing the slower rhythm of winter and giving yourself permission to rest, create, and dream.

Core Retreat Package
Each day offers a cozy balance of dedicated writing time, optional workshops, creative connection, and plenty of opportunities to enjoy the magic of the season.

🍷 Writer’s Inspiration Package

Our Madison, Ohio Inspiration Package includes everything in the Core Retreat, plus lunch and a tasting at a cozy local winery.
The Inspiration Package is designed to complement the retreat’s cozy atmosphere while giving you the chance to venture out, experience the local area, and find inspiration beyond your notebook.
The Inspiration Package requires a minimum number of participants to take place. If that minimum is not met, all additional fees associated with the Inspiration Package will be refunded.
🕯️ A Day in the Life of a Story Sirens Retreater
Wake slowly with a cup of coffee and an optional morning yoga session or peaceful winter stroll.
Then settle in for a nourishing breakfast before spending your day writing, attending an optional workshop, exchanging feedback, curling up with your notebook, or simply enjoying the cozy surroundings.
Coffee, tea, soda, and snacks are available around the clock, and all meals are included in your retreat fee.
Maybe you’ll spend the afternoon writing beside the fire while snow falls outside. Maybe you’ll soak in the hot tub under a winter sky. Maybe you’ll find yourself deep in conversation with another writer over a glass of wine.
There’s no wrong way to retreat.
As evening settles in, we’ll gather for delicious meals, meaningful conversations, games, laughter, and the kind of cozy memories that make you wish the weekend could last just a little longer.

While our retreats are predominantly fiction-forward, we’ve welcomed memoirists, poets, essayists, bloggers, nonfiction writers, and more. Whether you’re drafting your first novel, revising a manuscript, journaling your way through a creative season, or simply craving uninterrupted time to write, you’ll find a supportive, judgment-free space to create and connect.

Our Madison, Ohio venue is a spacious, cozy home located directly on Lake Erie, offering a truly magical winter setting.
The property features:

🛌 A limited number of private rooms available for an additional fee
And if the thought of driving in winter weather makes you nervous, transportation options are available.
